Arizona Cardinals starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following a severe biceps injury sustained in their recent game against the New York Giants. The injury occurred on the last drive of the game, culminating in a 36-24 defeat for the Cardinals. Following the incident, Johnson was seen holding his left arm as he exited the field.

First-year Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced that Johnson would undergo surgery soon to begin his recovery process. ‘I don’t know exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s going to happen soon to get the process going. I feel for him — just all these guys,’ LaFleur commented. He also expressed the significant loss this represents for the team, stating, ‘It sucks for him, first and foremost. It sucks obviously for the Arizona Cardinals, our offense, this team. But it’s NFL football — here we are in October and the show goes on.’

In Johnson’s absence, rookie Jayden Williams stepped in during the crucial moments of the game. Williams, a seventh-round draft pick from Mississippi, now finds himself in a critical position as he potentially continues to fill the gap left by Johnson.

Paris Johnson Jr., chosen as the No. 6 overall pick by the Cardinals in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been a key player since his rookie season, starting in 47 games over four seasons. His experience and performance have been vital to the Cardinals’ offensive line, making his loss significantly impactful to the team’s dynamic and protection strategies on the field.
